East London Apprentice Nursing Associate recognised at Chief Nurse Adult Social Care Awards

Ajeesh Thomas, a care worker from East London has been recognised for his outstanding performance and contribution to the health and safety of the care home residents he supports, at the Chief Nurse Adult Social Care Awards.

The Chief Nurse Adult Social Care Awards have been developed to reward the significant and outstanding contribution made by social care workers and nurses in England.

This Silver Award, presented by Chief Nurse for Adult Social Care, Deborah Sturdy OBE, recognises the commitment Ajeesh, Senior Care Co-ordinator at Ebury Court Care 淘精TV in Romford has made to improving the wellbeing of the residents he cares for, in addition to training, coaching, and supporting his colleagues across the home.

Ajeesh has earned a Level 3 Diploma in Palliative Care, a Level 4 Diploma in Health and Social Care and a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management. He’s also one of three care workers from East London who have been enrolled as an apprentice nursing associate (ANA) at the University of East London. It aims to make the qualified nursing associate role a core part of the residential care workforce and provides a career pathway into nursing for care staff.

The Apprentice Nursing Associate Innovation programme was grant-funded by 淘精TV through the Workforce Development Innovation Fund and North East London Health and Care Partnership and supported by Care City, North East London NHS Foundation Trust (NELFT), Barking, Havering & Redbridge Community Education Provider Networks (BHR CEPN) and the University of East London (UEL).
